Free Postal Entry

A genuine route to enter eligible GiveawaysZone prize draws without paying the online entry price.

Valid free entries have the same chance of winning as paid entries.
Equal treatment. A correctly submitted and eligible free entry is added to the same draw pool as paid entries. We do not reduce its chance of winning because no entry fee was paid.

1. Who can use the free route?

You must meet the same eligibility conditions as a paid entrant, including being at least 18 and resident in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) unless the specific competition states a narrower eligible area.

2. Cost

You do not pay GiveawaysZone an entry fee. You only pay the normal cost of sending your entry by ordinary first or second class post. You do not need recorded, tracked or special delivery unless a specific lawful alternative is clearly stated.

3. What to include

Unless a competition page clearly requires additional information, write the following legibly on a postcard or in a letter:

  • the exact competition title or competition reference;
  • your full legal name;
  • your date of birth or a clear confirmation that you are at least 18;
  • your residential postal address;
  • the email address and telephone number associated with your GiveawaysZone account, where you have an account;
  • the correct answer to the competition question where a question is required;
  • the number of free entries requested, provided this stays within the same published per-person limit that applies to paid entries; and
  • for a choose-your-number competition, your preferred available number(s) and reasonable alternatives. If a preferred number is already unavailable when the postal entry is processed, we may allocate another available number fairly.

4. Where to send it

Free-entry address not yet configured. The operator must publish a working postal address before accepting entries for competitions advertised as having a free route.

Write the competition title/reference clearly so we can match the entry to the correct draw.

5. Closing time

Your postal entry must be physically received and capable of being validated before the competition’s stated closing time. Posting it before the deadline is not enough if it arrives after closing. We recommend allowing normal postal delivery time.

6. Entry limits

The same overall maximum entry limit applies regardless of whether entries are paid, free or a mixture of both. Free entry cannot be used to bypass a published per-person limit.

7. One genuine entrant

Entries must be submitted by or genuinely on behalf of the named eligible entrant. Automated submissions, bulk-entry businesses, duplicate identities, fabricated contact details or attempts to circumvent entry limits may be rejected.

8. How a valid free entry is processed

We validate the eligibility information and required answer, record the entry against the correct competition and place the resulting ticket(s) into the same eligible draw pool as paid tickets. Where ticket numbers are customer-selectable, availability is determined when the postal entry is processed; free entrants are not deliberately allocated worse numbers or chances.

9. Instant wins

If a competition includes an instant-win mechanic and valid free entries are eligible for it, the same published mechanic applies when the free ticket is recorded. Future hidden instant-win numbers are not disclosed simply because an entry is made by post.

10. Reasons a postal entry may be invalid

An entry may be excluded if it arrives late, is illegible, is missing material required information, gives an incorrect required answer, comes from an ineligible or underage entrant, breaches the published entry limit, duplicates an already-counted entry or is reasonably identified as fraudulent or automated. We will not reject a valid postal entry merely because it is free.

11. No priority for paid entries

Paid entries and valid free entries have an equal chance per eligible ticket. The draw process must not distinguish between them when selecting winners.

12. Legal status

The free route is provided so that eligible prize draws can be structured consistently with the free-draw provisions of Great Britain’s Gambling Act 2005 framework. The Gambling Commission does not approve or license compliant free draws, and GiveawaysZone does not claim that it does.

13. Need help?

If you need clarification before posting an entry, contact us before the competition closes. We cannot guarantee that a late postal entry can be accepted simply because a support question was pending.
